The Jefferson County Jail employs 12 Corrections Deputies, 2 Court Security Deputies, 4 Corporals, 1 Sergeant, 1 Jail Commander, and 2 Nurses. There are normally 3-4 Corrections Deputies on-duty at a time in the jail 24 hours a day seven days a week. Inmate population has grown steadily since the facility opened. Twenty-five inmates were moved from the facility at the courthouse building to the new facility on Cherry Lane in 2001. Our average daily population is about 70. On average, 130 persons are booked into the jail each month by local law enforcement officers. ![]() The Jefferson County Adult Correctional Facility is located along with the Sheriff’s Office at 675 NW Cherry Lane in Madras, OR. The facility was built in 2000 and was open for the holding of inmates in November of 2001. The building is safe, clean, and has a capacity over 6 times that of the previous jail.
